I Come to the Sea Frequently

I come to the sea frequently,
sometimes in spring - but more often in winter,
marveling at its immensity and its power,
the breadth of its eternity,
wondering about the distant shores
I never set foot at,
and the people of lands I'll never meet.

But often - suddenly......

I see the heavens opening generously their gates,
bringing me images and visions I never expected,
splitting the night in half to unravel secrets,
and I hear voices,
singing, reciting poems,
stories of times past.

And disembodied my spirit rises

to new ethereal levels,
defying gravity,
looking down on waves,

as new, strange ground.

........................

And in such wonderings,

I often come across a wave that breaks like no other
and I don' know where it came from
or where it is going,
what distant storms have sprung it,

I want to follow it .....- but I Can't.

..............................

Sometimes,

a white sail catches my vision,
a ghost ship going somewhere or pehaps nowhere.

I wish I was on it galloping over the waves,
splitting the water in half,
to distant shores I dream about.

..............................

I wish I was a seagull gliding in night winds
searching for light of day in the middle of nowhere
...............

...............

I come to the sea frequently,
and marvel at the breadth of its eternity,
and in my wonderings,

I defy gravity and all laws of nature.

I COME TO THE SEA FREQUENTLY
