BIBLIOGRAPHY TO A CATALOG OF HISTORICAL TSUNAMIS IN THE PACIFIC OCEAN AND THE ADJACENT SEAS TO 1967

The following Bibliography was compiled in preparation of A Catalog of Tsunamis in the Pacific Ocean by Kumiji Iida, Doak Cox and George Pararas-Carayannis published originally, in 1967, by the Hawaii Institute of Geophysics of the University of Hawaii. It represents a very comprehensive and thorough search of historical records, archives, journals and publications in several countries, most of which were translated into English. Also, this Bibliography incorporates those entries cited by Solov'ev and-Ferchev in their Summary of Data on Tsunamis in the USSR [in Russian], originally published in 1961 in the Bull. Counc. Seismol., (Byulleten Soveta po Seismologii Akademiya Nauk, SSSR, Moscow) v. 9, p. 1-37, and subsequently translated by W. G. Van Campen, (Hawaii Inst. Geophys., Transl. Ser. 9, 1961) in preparation of the Catalog of Tsunamis in the Pacific Ocean and Adjacent Seas
