Transformation

I watch life from far away without moving,
From another world, another place,
And within the silence around me, I hear whispers
Soft prayers, cries of sorrow,
Echoes of ghosts within my soul.

Scared that I may be someone else,
rather than who I think I am,
I look around me, betraying my own thoughts,
Trying to convincing myself that I exist,
Trying to look as though I do,
At least a little longer,
To make sure my memories,
 don’t contradict the truth.

That  someone I speak about
I once knew but then I lost,
That other someone was none but me,
Just passing by that same old house where I lived,
when I was young, so long ago.

Searching for purpose in my goals
I walk the streets again each night,
In the city of my childhood,
Listening for familiar sounds,
Of ghosts of time, like me.

And amidst the sounds and the silence
I hear a distant voice telling me what may be true,
I may be dying in my dreams,
but then again I am reborn,
then hiding again, beyond a distant horizon.
Into the carnal reality of time gone.

A paradox of time and space, I am
at the end of one long night.
How many regrets must I endure in this unending journey,
Or is it almost over?

I too perhaps someday will be a story in a book,
Create myself with words and thoughts of bygone eras,
With symbols entering my mind,
So I could face enemies without fear,
And life’s end without regrets.

I always look to the east, even now,
As from the east all good things come,
Faith and trust, the sun’s warmth.
I look for inspiring symbolisms,
Something to lift my spirit to utter heights,
At light’s nearing end.

But then the tide comes back  once more,
to tell me another story,
of a deserted port where I must sail,
more tyranny  I must endure,
another sea that I must cross,
to really reach true light.

If a poet is a liar denying reality,
then I must be a poet,
Because I change all that I see,
Tranform thoughts, images and deeds,
to make them beautiful, bearable,
disguising my truth with symbolisms,
and allegorical expressions,
vague concepts, abstract words,
and thus I search both day and night,
but never really finding,
what I am seeking for.

I do not know how the years fled,
tomorrow what may bring,
Will luck come back again someday
And bring me hope and peace?
One thing I know for sure from all such things
That I am refined, reformed, transformed,

Perhaps, I still exist.
Perhaps the light’s end is still too far.
Perhaps will be remembered.
